Mission Statement

Sports Outreach Africa seeks to envision the churches of Africa with the effective tool of sports evangelism, network with Christian organisations and churches to provide resources and training in sport evangelism and discipleship.

Envisioning:

  • Increase the awareness of the local churches in Africa as to a ripe mission field
  • Motivate and encourage individuals within the church to use their enjoyment of, and participation in, sports to become an effective evangelism tool.

Networking:

  • Partner with Christian organisations and the church of Africa to proclaim the 'Good News' through sport.
  • Partner with Christian organisations and the local church during major sporting events.
  • Network key individuals and sports personalities to increase availability and focus for local churches

Resourcing:

  • Provide relevant materials and tools for sport evangelism and discipleship.
  • Promote resource sharing.
  • Maintain established resources.
  • Develop further tools as the sports evangelism knowledge base increases, and in anticipation of major sporting events.

Training:

  • Provide training and equipping for individuals, churches and youth related organisations in sport evangelism and discipleship.
  • Identify key individuals throughout Africa to cascade expertise and establish these practices in the coming generations.
 

2010 Soccer Ball Donation Project

J316 BallPurchase a J316 Gospel Presentation ball for R70 and get free postage within South Africa, or donate to the distribution project. 

The goal of this project is to donate 2x J316 Gospel soccer balls to churches prior to the 2010 Soccer World cup in June 2010. Each church benefitting from this project would qualify by having at least one of their members trained in the The Ultimate Goal.
